Umpiring FAQs

How does the Junior system work?
Junior umpiring is allocated to players from 12s to Cadets. Each player will be allocated 2-3 games in a season. These games are appropriately levelled to the ability of the umpire. The duties are a team responsibility to fill.

Senior registered players contribute $70 in their fees towards the allocation of umpires for the season. Players can receive their money back by umpiring 2 games throughout the season ($35 for each). Players will receive payment for any extra umpiring undertaken in the season. These games are allocated to the player and are an individual responsibility.

When do I start umpiring?
All players aged 12 and up are able to umpire. It is not a requirement, but it is recommended for all junior players to give umpiring a go.

The Umpires Convenor will provide beginners and continuers umpiring
sessions for players to attend. It is also recommended that you read through the rulebook or umpiring basics sheet.
