Role of the Coach

The Coach of an Allambie Netball team shall:

  • Be a financial, Associate or Life Member of Allambie Netball Club
  • Adhere to Netball Australia’s MWNA and Allambie Coaches Code of conduct and COVID guidelines
  • Maintain a sense of humour and strive in creating a fun learning environment
  • Hold at least a current Netball Australia Beginning Coaching General Principles or equivalent (or be willing to undertake) and forward the coaches convenor your certificate.
  • Hold a current Netball Australia Umpiring theory certificate and supply a copy to Allambie Netball Club Sect.
  • Complete online “working with children check” and forward the Coaching Convenor your registration code.
  • Organise a minimum of one (1) training session per week advising the Secretary of time(s) and day(s) (throughout the season).
  • Attend all games in the MWNA competition. (in your absence notify the Allambie coaches convenor of an appropriate stand-in coach)
  • Be responsible for behaviour of players whilst on court and at training
  • Be responsible for the dress code of their players on court
  • Liaise with coaches convenor on attending clinics and workshops to develop your coaching skills
  • Be available to discuss grading processes.
  • Make yourself available to attend the Allambie Netball club coaching meetings (approx 2 per season)
  • Keep a record of players positions and court time, ensure each player gets equal playing time
  • In the event of a dispute at training or games, notify the coaches convenor/Allambie executive representative. This must be done on the day of the dispute.
  • Report any injuries to the Allambie Sect. (via email is adequate)
  • Forward all reports required by the Allambie grading committee via the Allambie Sect. – The contents of the player/team report shall remain confidential, except for discussion with the grading/selection committees.
  • Where applicable accompany team to nominated grading days or carnivals
  • Be familiar with and adhere to MWNA “playing up guidelines” and By-Laws
  • Liaise with manager of your players who have played up (maximum 2 games)
  • To submit the name of the Team Manager to Allambie Secretary
  • In conjunction with the manager, be responsible for all Allambie Netball Club Inc equipment. At the the completion of the netball season return all equipment cleaned as requested.
  • Report any lost damaged equipment to the gear steward.
  • Provide an end of season players report
