GRADING:
Allambie Netball Club: The Club is responsible for grading individuals into a team and nominating an appropriate grade for each team to MWNA. Please refer to Allambie’s grading policy and procedures .
MWNA: When MWNA’s paper gradings are released, these may differ from the gradings requested by the Club. In many cases Allambie will lodge an appeal once this occurs however we must adhere to MWNA’s final official grading.
MWNA Under 10 teams: ALL 10 year teams are required to attend the MWNA grading round robin to determine their grading for the competition. Under 10 compulsory grading day is Saturday 9 March 2024 at the Curl Curl courts starting at 8.30am and concluding about 1pm. Players must wear their Allambie Netball Club uniform.
NB: (Back up grading day is Sunday 10 March 2024)
REFUNDS: Once registered a player may only receive a refund of fees for medical reasons if they have not taken the court to play any games. A medical certificate will need to be provided to the ANC Secretary.
GAME TIMES: As a guide see website for previous seasons timeslots.
TRAINING: When Allambie grading has been finalised and teams have been announced, your Coach will contact you with regard to your training day. The coach will set the training day and time, sometimes individual activities may need to be re-organised as it is difficult to train on a day that suits everyone. Regular attendance at training and games is expected as part of your club and team commitment. If unable to attend through illness please notify your coach or manager. Most training will be at the Curl Curl courts, although some teams may wish to train locally at Allambie School, the Allambie Oval or at Manly Vale School please be aware there is no lighting available at these venues and the club needs to notify the relevant organisation. Teams training at Curl Curl courts will be allocated a court by MWNA and your coach/manager will be advised of the appropriate court. To avoid disputes it is important to stick to your allocated court and time.
COACHING: If you are interested in coaching or being an assistant coach please contact our Coaching Convenor. The Allambie committee is available for mentoring and advice on courses available to assist you in developing your coaching skills. The first club meeting is Thursday 22 Feb 2024. MWNA have scheduled a variety of Coaches Education workshops 17 March, specifics will be provided and are on the website. Please complete the online Foundation course as your first step.
MANAGER: Each team will need to nominate a manager. This is normally a parent or carer of one of the players. Please contact the coaches convenor if you are able to help out with this. The first club meeting and collection of training kits is Thursday 22 Feb location to be advised
UMPIRING: Every player registering in a 12 year old team and above is required to umpire allocated games throughout the season. ANC recommends every player and parent undertake the Online Level 1 umpiring course –the open book exam takes 30 minutes – so that you are aware of the rules. To assist our newer or less experienced umpires, a member of the umpiring committee or a badged/experienced umpire will be at the courts to assist. We try to roster our newer umpires with more experienced umpires where possible. ANC will be hosting an “Introduction to Umpiring” date to be confirmed, which is a great help to our newest umpires.
NSG teams are required to provide their own experienced umpires. It is not advised you ask a player who is learning to umpire. ANC can assist with this but the team needs to take some responsibility to ensure these girls are able to perform their duties without any problems from parents and/or opposing coaches. The Committee does not endorse paid NSG umpiring. An end of season gift is acceptable.
Senior teams – an umpiring levy has been imposed. Each player will be allocated duty umpiring and you may nominate to fogo these duties , it is your responsibility to arrange this, the club will reimburse umpires up to two duty allocations per player. Refer to umpiring policy on website.
